Physical activity has many benefits, including increasing the chance of living a healthy life beyond retirement, lowering the risk of being overweight, improving mental health, and lowering the risk for various diseases, including cancer.

Various observational studies, a type of study in which individuals are observed or certain outcomes are measured, have shown that leisure-time physical activity, including anything from jogging to dancing to gardening, was linked to a 23% reduced risk of kidney cancer.
