The European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) has released a consensus statement about the management of cancer patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.
An international consortium was established to discuss clinical evidence and to provide expert advice. The steering committee addressed significant clinical questions from diagnosis to surgery. The statements were discussed and voted upon The expert panel agreed on 28 statements to overcome many of the areas of uncertainty during the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients, ranging from the use of telemedicine to COVID-19 testing and the administration of certain medicines for cancer.
