Leicester NHS Trust receives funding for robotic surgery theatre

Robotic surgery will be used in more procedures in Leicester after the NHS Trust received a grant of £1.5m from businessman and philanthropist Sir David Samworth, who died last year aged 87.

This will enable Leicester NHS Trust to treat more than 900 patients each year at the planned Sir David Samworth Robotic Theatre.

The theatre is set to start treating patients later this year.
