A rare type of kidney cancer that looks like a sarcoma (cancer of the connective tissues, such as muscles, nerves, fat, blood vessels and fibrous tissue). Almost any type of kidney cancer can become sarcomatoid. Sarcomatoid RCC tends to grow more quickly than other types of kidney cancer and is more likely to spread to other parts of the body. This makes it more difficult to treat.
