Cancer Research UK has written an interesting blog on the effect of late or emergency diagnosis of cancer and how the UK compares with other countries around the world.

The International Cancer Benchmarking Partnership (ICBP), which is hosted by Cancer Research UK, has been reporting the variation in cancer survival between countries for the past 10 years. This gives us an insight into how the UK compares internationally. A new study from the ICBP, published in The Lancet Oncology, reported on the international differences in the number of emergency presentations for cancer, and links this to differences in cancer, such as age, stage of the cancer and type of cancer.
