This article in The Lancet describes the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the two-week wait referral for cancer diagnosis in the UK from the results of two modelling studies looking at up to 20 different cancers.

The article concludes that patients whose symptoms indicate cancer have been disadvantaged, and some patients will die as a result. However, one positive result of the COVID-19 pandemic in the UK might be increased capacity in diagnostic services, but the cost has been considerable.
